Why Group Supervision?

Group supervision offers many benefits: alleviating isolation in private practice, affordable supervision hours, mutual support, and learning from/with others. My supervision groups include time for a personal and professional check-in and then discussion where I hope folks are actively participating. Groups are grounded in anti-oppression and body liberation values and are trauma-informed.

My groups might be a good fit if
Associates in social work, marriage and family therapy and mental health counseling are all welcome; however only LSWAICs and LMFTAs are able to count group supervision hours toward their total number of required supervision hours. LMHCAs are able to count these groups toward their post-graduate hours of experience, but need 1:1 or 2:1 supervision. Early career therapists or therapists new to working in perinatal mental health are also welcome in my perinatal groups.
- you are looking to supplement individual supervision
- you are seeking connections and community with others
- you enjoy reflecting on your own clinical work and can be curious, supportive and non-judgmental about others' practices
- you are aware of your own areas of privilege and willing to consider how our individual social location affects our clinical work

Feedback from past participants...
"[The group was] a warm and non-judgmental space that encouraged folks to come prepared with cases to share and learn from. Perinatal specific groups are hard to find. This was great!"
"I got lots of clinical feedback for case consults, as well as general support regarding running a business/starting a private practice. You, Laurie, are smart and experienced and add tremendous value to someone in my position."
